Stress Management Presentation for Parents

Dear Parents,

During this very challenging time of Covid-19 social distancing, we know that many in the Jean Vanier community are experiencing personal and financial struggles. Jean Vanier Parent Council would like to assist by providing a free virtual presentation to help mitigate the stress caused by this pandemic.

The Jean Vanier Catholic High School Parent Council invites you to attend a Virtual Zoom Presentation that focuses on Stress Management for Parents.
Let’s come together and learn how we, as adults, can manage stress, build resiliency, increase mindfulness and employ relaxation techniques.  Please
note that this presentation is appropriate for parents.

Join us as Ann Vickery from the Canadian Mental Health Association York and South Simcoe will address these issues and more during an informative virtual event brought to you by your Catholic School Council.

Some of the topics covered include:

*       What is stress and what are factors that contribute to stress?
*       What are your signs of stress? What are your personal levels of stress? Parents can participate by completing a stress index test.
*       How do you better manage stress
*       Collective Grief
*       Building Resiliency
*       Relaxation techniques
*       Emotional Resilience
*       Self-efficacy
*       Radical Acceptance

The presentation will be 1 hour followed by a 30-minute Q&A that will give parents the opportunity to ask questions and voice their concerns. If you would like to submit your questions ahead of time, please email us at  jvparentevents@gmail.com

Parents are also welcome to complete a “Stress Index” Test prior to the presentation to gain some awareness around your personal level of stress.
The test can also be completed online at https://cmha.ca/whats-your-stress-index
